An heirloom cowpea variety that sets strong yields of deep purple colored pods on compact 24” plants. Coronet is an improved Pinkeye Purple Hull type. Attractive purple pods are filled with traditional cowpeas that are excellent for eating fresh or dried. Seeds are cream colored with a purple-pink spot at the hilum, or ‘eye’.
