A Chinese Ming Dynasty glazed terracotta miniature bench from the 17th century, with accolade skirt. Born in the 17th century during the Ming Dynasty, this Chinese miniature bench features a rectangular top, accented with a central yellow glaze, perfectly contrasted by a black frame. Some traces of green glaze are visible on certain areas. The bench is raised on an exquisite base, decorated with black H-form legs, flanked with curved supports and a central arched skirt. These motifs are reprised on the back.

This four color miniature bench was probably crafted and put in a grave in order to replicate the environment of the deceased, which is a Chinese tradition. Such items were indeed common during the Ming dynasty.
