Imari is a style of porcelain named after the Japanese port from which it was shipped from, beginning in the late 17th century. The plate has a red and blue maker's mark on its back. Bordered by a scalloped edge adorned with flowers, mountains and geometric motifs, this 19th century Japanese hand-painted Imari porcelain charger plate will make for a lovely addition to any home décor, perhaps placed on a commode, side table or console!
