A large size Chinese pine cabinet with original patinated brass butterfly hardware from the late 19th century. Its impressive shape is softened by the light brown hue of the varnished pine. The doors could be configured to open accordion style if you so wished. The doors and five drawers are adorned with a finely crafted patinated brass hardware original to the piece, including the hinges with their exquisite butterfly shape. The locks are also very well made, each featuring a fine horse and rider locking with a leaf shank. On the inside, each set of doors reveal two shelves offering great storage possibilities.
This large 19th century pine Chinese cabinet with original hardware would be an uncommon storage unit in most homes, especially in a dining room used as a cupboard, or perhaps in a kitchen or guest room.
