Description

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period elm wood cabinet from the 19th century with double doors, four drawers, large brass medallion hardware and carved apron. We currently have two cabinets available, priced and sold individually. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this elm wood cabinet features a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by a dark lacquer. The façade showcases a pair of double doors fitted with a large traditional brass medallion with teardrop pulls, echoed in a graceful manner by the four round hinges. These doors open to reveal a perfectly organized interior made of inner shelves offering convenient storage opportunities. The inside of the door panels shows a nicely distressed patina revealing its age.

The cabinet's lower section presents four drawers each fitted with a brass c-scroll handle with circular backplates. The ensemble is completed by a carved skirt beautifully adorned with scrolling floral motifs. The sides are made of recessed panels and simply carved aprons. The back shoes of course no décor. With its clean lines, tall proportions, dark lacquer and skillfully carved motifs, this Chinese Qing Dynasty cabinet from the 19th century will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any home, particularly placed in a living room or bedroom.
