A Chinese Qing Dynasty period red lacquer side chest from the 19th century with five hand-carved raised drawers, hints of a black lacquer and horse hoof legs. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty, this side cabinet features a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by a red lacquer finish accented with hints of a black lacquer. A rectangular waisted top with central board sits above an elegant façade presenting three deep drawers in the upper section, followed by two longer ones below.
All of them are fitted with ornate pulls and are adorned with hand-carved raised panels. These motifs are echoed on the sides, in a manner creating visual continuity. Raised on four horse hoof feet, the chest boasts a nicely weathered patina with age cracks expected to be seen on a piece with this age. With its clean lines and red lacquer, this 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty side chest will bring a pop of color to any home décor, whether placed in a living room, bedroom or hallway.
