A Chinese antique Qing Dynasty period storage trunk from the 19th century made of red lacquered leather with distressed patina, Ming style brass hardware and lateral C-scroll handles. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this storage trunk features a rectangular silhouette complimented by a reddish brown lacquer boasting a greatly weathered patina. The rectangular lid opens thanks to a brass Ming style clasp to reveal a wallpaper lined interior showcasing a label at the top. The sides each present a C-scroll handle on circular backplates, while the back reveals the two hinges securing the top.
The piece is in good condition for its age but with obvious signs of aging visible on the worn leather. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws.
