A vintage Taiwanese hand-carved and hand-painted armoire from the mid-20th century, with two doors, six drawers and floral motifs. Created during the 1960s in Taiwan, this hand-carved wooden armoire features a linear silhouette. The upper section showcases two doors with molded panels, each decorated in their centre with hand-carved red painted medallion, beautifully adorned with petite flowers with traces of gilding. These doors open to reveal two inner shelves offering great storage opportunities.
The lower section is made of six small drawers with brass ring pulls, sitting atop a pierced section with central door. The ensemble is raised on four straight legs, accented in the front with delicate carved motifs. The natural finish of the piece is subtly complimented by the delicate painted accents of the floral motifs. With its clean lines and great patina, this hand-carved wooden armoire circa 1960 found in Taiwan will bring a touch of authenticity to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or office.
