A large Chinese vintage elm compound two-part wedding wardrobe, with two sets of double doors, lower drawers and brass hardware. Born in China during the mid-20th century, this large elm compound wardrobe features a small upper cabinet presenting a set of double doors, opening to reveal a convenient storage area. The lower section, larger in size, is made of two doors accented with a medallion face plate (echoed from the top) with pierced knobs and leaf pulls, that unlocks to reveal two inner shelves. Five drawers (three over two) make up the rest of the façade.
Raised on four straight legs accented with an apron and spandrels, this large cabinet is fitted with brass hinges whose golden patina compliments the warmth of the elm beautifully.
With its large proportions and clean lines, this Chinese vintage wedding two-part wardrobe circa 1950 will bring a touch of elegance to any home, particularly placed in a bedroom or living room. The lower section measures 69 inches, the upper part: 29.5.
